In the Time Between Broken and Whole

Healing doesn’t always look like progress. Sometimes it’s quiet, invisible, and slow. It’s not about erasing the pain or pretending it never happened. It’s about learning to live alongside it, to breathe through it, to soften where you once had to harden.

There will be days when you feel like you’ve gone backward. Days when the past knocks on your door and you open it before realizing you shouldn’t. That’s alright. Healing isn’t a straight line - it’s a spiral. You’ll revisit the same lessons until they no longer hurt to hold.

Forgive yourself for the pauses. For the days you couldn’t smile. For the moments when you thought you’d never feel whole again. Wholeness isn’t the same as being unbroken; it’s the peace that grows around your scars.

Keep showing up for yourself in small ways. Eat. Rest. Step outside and feel the air on your skin. Write what hurts, then write what still gives you hope. You don’t have to be “over it” to move forward. You just have to keep moving - gently, honestly, at your own pace.

And one day, you’ll notice that you laughed without thinking about the pain first. That’s how healing arrives - not all at once, but in quiet moments that remind you you’re still alive.
